Arafat: ignore my ceasefire declarations

From Israelwire (http://www.virtualjerusalem.com/articles/186001.htm)

Arafat told Marwan Barghouti he wants blood so can get Arab money (NOV.9 – 12:00-IST)

(IsraelWire-11/9) Israel Radio Territories Correspondent Avi Yisachar reported this morning that he has learned from senior Fatah sources that Marwan Barghouti, the General Secretary of Fatah (and the Tanzim) in Judea and Samaria (The West Bank), bragged to several of his Fatah friends about the special ties he has with Yassir Arafat and told them about a conversation the two had a few days ago.

During the course of the conversation, Arafat told Barghouti that "every time that you hear me declare a cease-fire and a halt to the violence ignore these declarations. You know that I am under heavy pressure from the United States and Europe. You should ignore this and continue. You should know that we are in difficult financial situation because of the Intifada. We will not receive any more money from the United States and Israel will stop the monthly transfer of funds. Our only hope for getting money is from the Arab states. But the Arab states will not give money if there is not blood. Therefore, press, press, press ["idhas, idhas, idhas"]."

The senior sources in Fatah said that the message from Arafat as relayed by Barghouti was very clear.

Minister Shimon Peres said later in the program criticized the report and said that he thought it was wrong to put out material that is against Arafat.
